About The UniVerse

Each day, people from all over the world visit DesignerVerse.com to create a range of poems. We wanted to unite this global network of potential poets – and so the UniVerse was born.

The aim is to create a constantly evolving ‘universal’ poem, composed of contributions from across the globe – a truly united but diverse verse. This ‘UniVerse’ will gradually build a vast and varied picture of the world we share – as seen by individual eyes.

The UniVerse is free of charge, and open to anyone – so why not enter it right now?

All you have to do is contribute a ‘couplet’ (two lines) based on the theme ‘The World Around Me’, describing what you experience in your part of the world. So, you can simply write about something you see each day, or be a little more abstract (see examples below)

Your two lines do not necessarily have to rhyme and you can structure your couplet however you wish (just so long as you adhere to a few basic rules of the UniVerse).

Your contribution to The UniVerse may even make you famous: we’re planning to display the poem in a gallery next year – and possibly even enter it into The Guinness Book of World Records! So click below to become part of this huge global arts project right now.

Examples

You could describe the physical world around you, in terms of sight…:
‘Around me I see trees and flowers,
I could sit here for hours and hours.

’ …sound:
‘That music from the kid next door,
It makes me wish I was still young. ‘

… or even smell:
‘The sweetest scent of her perfume,
Still lingers in the hotel room.’

You could talk about the people you encounter:
‘The wisdom in the elder lady’s eyes;
How beautiful the strength that comes with age.’

Or you could be more abstract:
‘All around are love and smiles,
I see them stretch for miles and miles.’

However you can interpret your theme ("The World Around Me") however you wish, the only limit is your imagination! So why not become part of The UniVerse now.
