Where did this idea come from? |
|
|
Where we think many of the best ideas come from: just two friends considering how they might combine their areas of expertise to provide a useful and valuable service.
Having helped out many friends and relatives with poetry compositions in the past, we know that people are often keen to transform their thoughts, feelings and ideas into verse – but simply don’t know where to begin.
We wanted to create a resource that would enable people to unleash their creative potential and put their thoughts into words –safe in the knowledge that their resulting poem would be perfectly structured and ready to present. |

Absolutely. DesignerVerse.com has been devised to cater for all levels of poetic ability – from absolute beginners to those regular poets who might be looking for something a little bit different.
In our experience though, once people have seen their poem, it often inspires them to add those extra personal touches. So, you could well end up showing more poetic flair than you’d originally thought. |

How long does a poem take to compose? |

Anywhere from ten minutes upwards – part of the beauty of Designer Verse is that it’s entirely up to you. Whilst you can confidently compose a verse-perfect poem in just ten minutes, you may also like to take a little more time to embellish your creation – it’s your poem, so it’s your choice! |

Pretty much exactly what they sound like – they’re one verse…and they’re wonderful! One Verse Wonders are perfect when you need a quick poem to send in a text message to make that special person smile, or scribble on a gift tag to add something extra to your flowers or presents. If you want a longer, more personal poem to write in a card, put in a frame or send in an e-mail, then create a Full Length Poem (from three verses right up to ten!) |

Why is there a little bird on your web site? |

That’s Feathers! He flew into our heads (and indeed our hearts) one day while we were designing the site, and we loved him so he stayed.
We’ve been asked whether Feathers is supposed to represent the quill of a pen or if he’s supposed to be a reminder of the days when birds were used as messengers. Not really; he’s just a cute little chap who totters around the site and makes us smile every time we see him. We hope you like him too. How can I present my poem? |

Once you’ve completed your poem, we know you’ll want to show off your creation immediately. So if you can’t wait to write it in a card, our handy e-cards service is the perfect way to send your masterpiece instantly.
If you want to be a bit more creative with your delivery, why not try one of the following ideas:
- Write your poem out into a card: your own handwriting will add that extra personal touch, ensuring that the card will be treasured forever.
- Create a scroll for your poem, by printing your poem onto a sheet of good quality paper, rolling it up and tying a ribbon around it – simple!
- Frame your poem: just like any good work of art, your poem deserves to be immortalised, so why not do full justice to your masterpiece by framing it?
- Recite it yourself! Let’s face it, the world needs more modern-day Romeos and Juliets. So if you’ve chosen a love poem, there’s nothing more romantic than reading it yourself to your loved one.
- Set it to music: if you’ve got an ear for music, why not combine your new poem with a few simple chords to add that extra bit of charm.

Yes, we use UK English as the standard for all Poetry Plans. However, once you are in the Poetry Lounge, you will be able to change words and spellings as you wish. |
